The Sober Awakening Method

Most sobriety approaches focus on stopping drinking.
The Sober Awakening Method focuses on why you drink — and how to get that back without alcohol.

 Wine isn’t random.
It’s been helping you regulate, soften, feel alive, tolerate, or escape.
Taking it away without addressing that leaves you white-knuckling — or stuck.

How the Sober Awakening Method Works

REVEAL
Figure out what you’ve been using wine for.

RECLAIM
Meet the parts of yourself wine gave you access to.

REWIRE
Teach your body a new way to regulate, feel, and feel alive.

REBUILD
Become the woman who doesn’t need wine to access herself.

Most approaches work against the body — forcing control, removing a coping strategy, counting days. This works differently. It addresses what wine was actually doing for you, restores access to that through your nervous system rather than overriding it, and integrates body and mind instead of asking one to manage the other.

  • It works with your nervous system, not against it

  • It addresses what wine was doing for you

  • It restores access to aliveness instead of removing a coping strategy

  • It integrates body + mind instead of forcing control

The Sober Awakening Method combines three essential elements

BRAIN SCIENCE

Understanding why your body keeps reaching for wine even when you don't want to.

BODY WORK

Somatic practices to actually FEEL your feelings instead of numbing them.

RECLAIMING YOURSELF

Getting back the parts of yourself wine gave you access to.

What changes when you do this work

FROM:

Knowing exactly why you drink and being unable to stop anyway

Performing the version of yourself everyone expects, then needing wine to exhale afterward

Knowing exactly why you drink and being unable to stop anyway

TO:

Understanding what you've actually been reaching for and going to get it directly

Access to the parts of yourself that used to require a glass. Sober

A body that knows how to regulate, rest, and feel alive without a substance to get there

Sobriety isn't the goal. Aliveness is.

Most women aren’t drinking because they love wine.
They’re drinking because it helps them feel something—more relaxed, more open, more alive, more themselves.

This work isn’t about removing alcohol and hoping for the best.
It’s about restoring access to what wine was giving you in the first place.

When I talk about erotic energy, I’m not talking about sex.
I’m talking about your life force—your curiosity, desire, presence, and full engagement with being alive.

Most women lose access to that at midlife.
Wine becomes the substitute.

The Sober Awakening Method helps you reclaim it without needing alcohol.

REVEAL

Figure out what you’ve been using wine for

Wine isn’t random. It’s been serving a function — helping you regulate, soften, escape, feel alive, or tolerate what feels unbearable.

In this phase, you uncover:

  • What wine actually gives you

  • What feelings it helps you avoid

  • What version of you only comes out when you drink

  • What wine has been protecting you from

This is where patterns become clear — without shame.

RECLAIM

Meet the parts of yourself you’ve been hiding

Most women discover that wine gives them access to parts of themselves they’re not allowed to be sober — the fun version, the sexual version, the messy version, the angry version.

In this phase, you meet those parts, understand what they need, and learn how to let them exist without wine.

The parts most women encounter include:

  • The Wild Woman — the version of you that’s spontaneous, free, and not responsible for everyone else

The Sexual Woman — desire, appetite, the part that knows what she wants and isn’t apologizing for it

The Angry Woman — the one with real limits, real truths, and a long list of things she stopped saying out loud

The Needy Woman — the part that wants to be held, seen, and not required to perform competence for five minutes

The Controlled Woman — the protector. The one holding everything together so none of the others spill out

Wine gives you access to these women. The Sober Awakening Method helps you find the door yourself.

REWIRE

Teach your body a new way to feel good

Your nervous system learned that wine equals relief, permission, and pleasure.
In this phase, we teach it a different way.

You learn how to:

  • Ride urges without white-knuckling

  • Regulate your nervous system through body-based practices

  • Feel emotions without numbing them

  • Rewire beliefs about drinking and yourself

  • Experience pleasure and aliveness sober

This is where sobriety becomes embodied — not forced.

REBUILD

Become the woman who doesn’t need wine to feel alive

This is where everything integrates.

You step into the version of yourself who doesn’t need wine to be fun, relaxed, or real — because she has access to herself again.

In this phase, you:

  • Anchor into your sober identity

  • Grieve what you’re leaving behind

  • Reclaim aliveness in all areas of life

  • Build sustainable practices that support who you are now

This is about living fully — awake, present, and alive.

Body-based practices you'll learn

Because you can't think your way out of drinking. You have to FEEL your way out.

This method is for you if:

This is for you if:

You’re high-functioning and private about this. No one would guess.

You’ve tried willpower, rules, and ‘just cutting back.’ Nothing has addressed what’s actually driving it.

You want to understand the mechanism, not just break the habit

You’re afraid sobriety means becoming a duller, flatter version of yourself — and you refuse to let that be the trade

You’re ready to feel your way through this, not just think your way through it

This is NOT for you if:

  • You’re looking for tips, rules, or quick fixes to manage your drinking

  • You’re seeking a traditional recovery program or 12-step support

  • Your goal is moderation without examining what alcohol has been doing for you

  • You’re not interested in working with your body or feeling what’s underneath the urge

  • You’re looking for clinical treatment, detox, or medical care (this is coaching, not treatment)
